In an institution, the way people behave tends to differ from the way people behave outside of such situations. Be that institute a corporation, a school or a house of worship, there are rules endemic to institutions, and those rules are specific to institutions in general, and also peculiar to specific individual institutions themselves. The rules best serve those people that understand them and learn to navigate successfully within the framework of those rules. People that cannot figure out how to operate within those rules often end up struggling within institutional settings.
